Back to 70’s: München 72
You always wanted to have a time machine and to go in the past? To see the times when your parents were young, when the world seemed to be a bit simpler and friendlier?
So, we had bad news: we won’t give you a time machine because we don’t have any. Good news is we can offer your a short journey to Munich 1972 and hope you will feel like 40 years ago.
München 72 Café is located on a backside street in the very heart of Munich, close to Isartor. Very cozy spot with only two small rooms looks a bit hipster like and try to recall the atmosphere from the past. All furniture, sofas and bar are pretty oldtime and the walks are decorated with posters of Munich 72 Olympic Games and create incredible atmosphere of those times.
Back to reality, we recommend to come for breakfast here. They serve different types of eggs, but not only – you are in Munich so you need to experience traditional Munich breakfast: weiswurst (white boiled sausage) with sweet mustard and pretzel. It’s delicious, believe me or not, but you’ll love it.
Drink of the day:
Although you’re in Munich, you can’t take traditional Paulaner, Franziskaner or Löwenbräu here. However, there is something better we can recommend. Try Tegernsee (3,20 euro), one of the best truly local Bavarian beers usually served in bottles. It has a very strong taste and is recommended for those who want to have a real bold start of the day. If you’re not sure, go for Astra beer, it is another authentic choice coming from Sankt-Pauli district of Hamburg.
